Delicious Dinner | Caye Caulker, Belize

So you’ve had a long day of relaxing and enjoying the island life. It’s time to find some delicious dinner on Caye Caulker, Belize. During my time visiting the island we tried many different places and never had a bad meal. Everything was prepared fresh with local ingredients and very affordable. Remember to check the menus to see if they are listed in US dollars or Belize dollars since the exchange rate averages about 1 US dollar to 2 Belize dollars.

Fresh Catch of the Day

If you love fresh seafood then almost any location will have something you can enjoy. One of the nights we went to Rose’s Grill & Bar for dinner and we were actually earlier than the fishing boats, so we played some darts while we waited for the fresh catch to be delivered. We were given the opportunity to select the item we wanted and then it was prepared over the grill.

Dee n D’s Waterside Grill

If you are in the mood for a great view while you eat be sure to check out Dee n D’s Waterside Grill! They have a simple menu posted on the wall with a brief description of each item and the price in Belize dollars. While there for dinner I chose to get the Jerk Chicken which came with rice and beans, fried plantains and some coleslaw. It was such a delicious choice. Another option if you are still in the mood for fresh seafood would be the Honey Mustard Snapper Fillet, that one is also really good. Really you can’t go wrong with anything on their menu, plus you get a great view of the sunset.

Reina’s

When we went to Reina’s it was basically a one man show. The chef also took our order, prepared our drinks, and delivered an amazing meal. Like most of the dinner options on Caye Caulker Reina’s is a small locally owned restaurant, but the flavors packed a punch! If you like spice then without a doubt you should order the Jerk Chicken. It defiantly made me sweat a bit, but it was so good. And like we talked about in the previous post, I had to pair it with some Rum Punch.

La Cubana

Last but not least is La Cubana, a cuban style restaurant with plenty of options for everyone. They have both indoor and outdoor seating based on your preference and the weather. We opted to sit outside and enjoy the nice breeze. We actually ate here twice during our time on Caye Caulker. The first time I got the pork meal which included 2 sides. The second time I got the seafood paella which was delicious. Out of the two I would recommend the paella more. While enjoying your meal be sure to pair it with a ice cold Belikin Beer. You might even meet a new friend while dining here so be sure to keep an eye out!

Delicious Dinner

As you can see there is no shortage of places to get dinner on Caye Caulker. There are even more that I didn’t have the chance to visit while on the island. This about wraps up the different food posts related to Caye Caulker Belize, but this won’t be the last I share about Belize. In addition to spending time on the island we took a day trip back to the mainland and explored some of Belize’s exciting excursions. In the near future I will be sharing with you some activities that we were able to do both on the island and off. So be sure to keep an eye out of future posts! Until next time continue to Explore Every Day and keep Seeking Discovery!
