Living Life as a Digital Nomad

The Name’s Kate, Mate | Another New Face

Hi fellow nomads and gallivanters! I’m Kaitlyn, also known as Kate, also known as a visual artist, jack of all trades, (master of pun), and a globetrotter, as in world traveler, because I’m shockingly bad at basketball. Some have said that I am the most organized, spontaneous person they’ve ever met, and it’s a well-known fact that I’m serious about good humor. Basically, I’m a living, breathing cartoon character, always walking with a bounce in my step, and uttering zany exclamations like, “Egad!” or “Jinkies!”

I honestly thought I’d be doing things like saying “Ciao Dahling” and kissing people I just met on both cheeks at this point in my life. Instead I’m facing the sober reality of possessing the freckle pattern of a tortilla, and coughing violently almost every time I laugh. Underneath all that physical charm, I’m a storyteller, inspired everyday by the people and places around me. I am also a big believer in following one’s dreams and reaching for those flaming balls of gas in the night sky.

Kate’s Adventures Down Under

In the pursuit of expanding my literal and metaphorical horizons after a near-death experience my freshman year of college, I made the decision to live, study, and work in Australia for a few months! It was the best choice I’ve ever made. Stick around if you’d like to hear some stories about a few of my adventures below the equator!

Sneak Peek

Just to give readers a quick glimpse of what’s to come, I’ll be covering my time spent in New Zealand, as well as several locations in Australia including: Melbourne, Sydney, Tasmania, Surfer’s Paradise, Brisbane, and Cairns. There are a few popular questions that people ask when I tell them I lived in The Land Down Under, such as: Is everything in Australia poisonous? Does the water in the toilets spin the opposite direction? Are kangaroos a common sighting? And most importantly, is P Sherman 42 Wallaby Way, Sydney a real place?? These are all questions that will be answered in future posts. Stay tuned.
