How many times in our lives do we get super stressed out and just need an escape from reality? If you are looking for relaxing island life, then look no further than Caye Caulker, Belize. This little island nestled off the coast of Belize is the perfect place to get away from it all and spend some much needed time resting and relaxing. Let’s dive in and check out some of the great things Caye Caulker has to offer!
Location, Location, Location
People say location is everything and that plays a big part as to why Caye Caulker is a great place to visit. The Caribbean island is located about 20 miles off the coast of Belize and is only 5 miles long and about 1 mile wide. What makes it even more unique is that the island is split down the middle with a channel that has formed over the years. One half of the island is developed while the other half is still mainly untouched, except for a few areas starting to pop up. The easiest way to get to the island is via one of the water taxis that run multiple times per day. Keep in mind the ride will take about 45 minutes from Belize City. If the weather isn’t great it can be a rough ride. You can check out pricing and schedules here: http://www.belizewatertaxi.com/destinations

Getting Around Caye Caulker
When spending time on the island you really are on “island time”. One of the main reasons for that is transportation. Since the island is so small there are no personal cars. There are a couple vehicles for trash pickup, water delivery, and rescue but thats it. Instead the locals like to get around by walking, on bike, golf cart, and of course boat! These transportation methods lend themselves to very leisure travel which adds to the relaxing lifestyle on the island.

Things To Do!
